I decided to make another post since there has been some change of plans. My first attempt was to buy a CPU that was max 200 dollars, but since I want Intel that is not possible.
Not from where I come from atleast.
All i7 are to expensive. i3 is not good enough since I need 4 cores.
Reason I want Intel is because I want to play some really old games.

My Nvidia doesn't run the really old games. It either crashes or blinks.
When I use my Intel graphics (CPU) it works.

So I decided to use Max 250 dollars this time, This is my list. What should I pick? And it needs to be on the list.
If you think you know of a CPU that would be better, Don't bother. It's either to expensive or not in stock, but you could try me and I will check : )

What I do on the PC?

Most games, but also music editing. Sometimes Photoshop but that is just now and then. Not that important.

If you have a decent aftermarket CPU cooler, you would get more performance per NOK getting the 4690k and overclocking.

you can get it on amazon for 230~ they have free shipping right... but yea it will probably take quite some time to arrive...

To other countries it's not even free.

I don't know about Norway, but import tax may be a thing too.

If i understand correctly, Norway is not part of the European Union either, but it has a trade agreement with the European countries? So if you bought of Amazon UK or DE i think you wouldn't need to pay import tax either way? Both Amazon UK and DE have quite good shipping rates - if you can find a seller that will send to foreign countries.

//edit nevermind, below USD 250 or about NKR 2000 is not going to happen on amazon in the EU.

Almost correct. They are not in EU but they have a agreement.

You need to pay import taxes. If you buy something for more than 32 dollars, you need to pay import taxes. So the best and the cheapest would be to buy from Norway.

The i5-4590 is the best choice on your list, as it turbos 300 MHz higher than does the i5-4460 when using all cores. A 9% stronger CPU for 12.5% higher price is probably worth it.

Yes, it got the best score but.

For me it comes down too this 5

Intel Core i5-4590 @ 3.30GHz 1945 Kr 252 Dollar Cores 4 Threads 4 Intel® HD Graphics 4600
Intel Core i5-4570 @ 3.20GHz 1952 Kr 252 Dollar Cores 4 Threads 4 Intel® HD Graphics 4600

This two is pretty simular to the others, but they use less power.
Isn't less power, less heat?

I don't know how the S chips work, but I would guess they would throttle to stay at 65W. You might end up playing your games at 2.9GHz on the 4570S vs 3.5 GHz on the 4590 non S.

for 1 fps? no

4570s

vs the 4460 it's cheaper, uses less power, will turbo to 3,6GHz (instead of 3,4) and the GPU is slightly faster (1,15 GHz vs 1,1 GHz)

man,the 4570s is good but turbo isn't on all cores. i recommend the baseclock of over 3ghz

and K cpus are not necesary for gaming at all,OC is more like a hobby nowadays

i5 4460 is preety high end for gaming.

I have updated the list. I will check now how the S performs.

I included how much power they use.

This PC isn't only for gaming. I do some music editing. I don't know what I need to look for when it comes to CPU's.

The CPU's that ends with ''S'' I don't have a cloue on what means.

But should I avoid everyting that is ''S'' ''K'' and letters like that?

oh crap, yeah the S versions only boost 2 cores. then i would avoid those indeed.

K = unlocked, but the base clock is also higher. don't necessarily avoid those, but weigh the higher clock speeds against the higher cost.

If you find any chip with C behind it - that's the latest generation. iGPU will be faster, IPC is a bit faster and power consumption is lower.

other than that, yeah 4460

Thanks, people really prefer the 4460 so I think I wil ltake it.

Also how do you know that the S version only boosts 2 cores? How can I check that?

Also, is hyperthreading imortant when it comes to video editing and things like that?
