i found the list of what the letters mean according to intel. i don't really agree with that explanation, as it seems marketing only...

Thanks, people really prefer the 4460 so I think I wil ltake it.
Also how do you know that the S version only boosts 2 cores? How can I check that?
Also, is hyperthreading imortant when it comes to video editing and things like that?

Ok, the article that i had yesterday is even wrong, it's only 3,6 GHz at single core for the 4570s.

full specs from intel: http://www.intel.com/support/processors/corei5/sb/CS-032278.htm(expand 4th gen + find 4570S)

//edit:

I would say that the T versions heavily rely on Turbo boost for their clock speeds and that the S versions are more power efficient, but in return do max turbo boost on Single core only.

If you look in the table, the 4-core turbo boost of the 4570s is the same as the 4460. In benchmarks that i saw online they are about equal - but those benchmarks use the stock cooler. Personally, i wouldn't like to rely on the cooling if you need max performance over longer times (video editing) regardless of single threaded or multithreaded.

If you do use a multithreaded program, hyperthreading is useful, but not as useful as a full core. Don't go 2 core / 4 threads if you can go 4 core / 4 threads.
