I have an NZXT S340, but I'm not so sure I like it. It's not a very quiet case, the side panel scratches really easily and already has several, very visible marks on it and I've only had it for a week and a half. One of the side panels also has a small chip on it, and I haven't even banged it against anything. I've been thinking about returning it and getting a bequiet! Silent Base 800. I wouldn't want a Define R5 because I don't really care for its aesthetic. Is it worth it? The price difference isn't really a big deal, but I'm just wondering if going through the hassle of returning it and reinstalling everything into a new case would be worth it, and if the Silent Base 800 would really be that much quieter than the S340.

The side panel. I could provide a picture if you want. I haven't been swinging the panel around or anything so I'm not sure how the gloss paint got scratched.

EDIT: quoted.

Totally agree, was using s340 2 months ago and i have done shit ton of things to make it quiet, adding dampening foam changing to high quality fans and so.

The side panel is a disaster it scratches wayyy to eazy even with finger nails just rub though, i've changed the side panel into glass panel which it looks better and nicer too.

I do recommend silent base 800 over s340, it worth the time you reinstall everything rather then regretting months later, and you probably will.

Have a look with phanteks enthoo series, it is better than it should be so at least have a look. mainly enthoo pro and enthoo evolv.

Did the high quality fans and foam help at all? Also I think the Enthoo EVOLV ATX is a biiit out of my price range :P

nope, a little bit(like really a little bit) yes but the improvement does not worth the work and time.

Enthoo pro is good tho, cheap and nice.

I'll watch that video later, but I think I'm pretty set on the Silent Base 800 if I'm going to switch. I don't really like the visible 5.25" bays and front intake.
