I didn't find anything on Artics website whether it's a grease thermal compound so I can remove it later or not. You can always remove it with isopropyl alcohol but do remember silver compounds need time to cure ~200hours.

yeah 50-200 hours with the CPU under use.

Uh well it's harder to remove than the silicon based ones, but some cleaning with 71 or 91% isopropyl alcohol will get it off 

I just use paper towel.

So that's why my semi-stock cooler for my Xeon is able to cool it so well now. (semi stock because its in between the original cooler, and that of the Pentium 4-except with no copper core)

I recommend if you don't have iso alcohol to follow up with a medical wipe. Those have 71% in them. Even with it's easist to start with a dry parper towel I should have mention that otherwise you'll be there forever using a roll of paper towels and a bottle of alcohol lol
