I'm looking at getting the 980 ti, but unsure which model from EVGA is best.

The cheapest is 649$ then you add water block and backplate for 130$, which ends up 20$ cheaper then there Hydro Copper model.

They are both reference, as far as I can tell, so that should not make a difference. The only difference is texture fill rate (beside overclock), which I have no idea what is.

So are there any difference between the 2?

Also are the classified/kingpin worth the extra cost?

Yes, I know models like Gigabyte G1 is better out of the box, but you loose warrenty if you change cooler on them.

Since u say "The only difference is texture fill rate" u can go for waterblock and backplate theres no difference

mostly no difference in the Spec side but the Kingpin edition has Overcloking Feature such as

If you want EVGA and awesome performance in overclocking / cooling, get the EVGA GTX 980 Ti HYBRID.

And if you compare overclockability of the classified with the HYBRID, i would still recommend the HYBRID. Because it is watercooled and runs cooler.

In case I didnt make it clear: I want a card for my custom loop.

Also, the Hybrid seems to be the same card as the Hydro Copper.

I really don't think you read the post...

OT: The classified card would be a little better, but personally I don't think its worth the extra cost. I would get one of the cheap ones and install the waterclock yourself, or get the hydrocopper if you aren't comfortable to installing it.

It seems it has something to do with the amount of pixels the card can render, so that might make a difference for a multi monitor setup.

If kingpin/classified only has minor things added, so would that not make them worth it.

Its not an issue of installing them, as I can handle both versions.

I'm asking if there is a difference between the cards or is the Hydro Copper just a cheap card with a water block?

Basically yes. They have an ok block, but it would be better to do it yourself.

Why is it better to do it myself, when its 20$ or so difference?

Also, the Hydro Copper is a true full cover block, so there is that.

I think its better to do it yourself because then you can customize it so that it matches you build well. I assume the water block you were looking at is a full cover, otherwise the hydrocopper would be better. EK makes the best waterblocks and the hydrocopper uses one of those, so if you are looking at a different one, it may not perform quite as well as the hydrocopper.

Other then the Hydro Copper, so does EK only make 2 full cover versions (I dont count the once where you got PCB showing on the side).

Since the Acetal one is plain looking, so is it a choice between the Nikkel (Original CSQ) and Hydro Copper.

I would get the evga 980ti acx 2.0 sc+ @Chiobe and then add the ek waterblock and backplate of your choice

That model is another reference PCB model, so it just adds cost over the cheapest model.

If I want factory overclock so is the Hydro Copper a better choice.

Vendor lock in is a curse

If the Fury is insanely better, so can I always sell the Gsync monitor, but atm so is Freesync worse as there is no standard for what you get (open standard means its up the the monitor maker to decide the Hz range).

You could sell your old GPU and moniter as a bundle, if Fury looks like it would be the best choice.

Hydrocopper all the way.   It is already higher clocked and the premium you pay is so minor it isn't even worth thinking about.   My time is worth more than that to not have to mess with the Block install.

Tell my tale to those who ask. Tell it truly; the ill deeds along with the good, and let me be judged accordingly.

what? it is factory overclocked and its only 20 dollars over the reference model

The difference between reference (cheapest, as they are all reference PCB) with water block and backplate and Hydro Copper is 20$, hence my point about going for Hydro Copper if I want factory overclock.

If it where a bigger difference, like a good custom PCB, then its a different story.
