Equal parts gaming+editing: 16gb 1600mhz (2x8gb) or 8gb 1866mhz (2x4gb)

Go to solution Solved by Samdb,

Since you are editing I'd go for the 16GB. You won't notice the extra speed of the 1866MHz RAM.

I only want to speed about $100 - $150 on ram.  I'm looking at the corsair dominator platinums, but doesn't really matter.  I keep finding cheap16gb 2x8gb 1600mhz for about the same price as nice 8gb 2x4gb 1866mhz.  Which would you prefer?  I will be playing plenty of games, but I also shoot photos and edit HD video.  Which would work better for both?

I have heard that, at least for gaming 1600 and 1866 are pretty much the same. Maybe get Corsair Vengeance Pro 16GB(2 x *GB)???
