Which one should i get? My router is relatively near my PC and (since my powerline is pretty crappy) powerline adapter is not a solution (mine just died and i have tons of problem with it too)

A direct cable is out of the question as the router is not THAT near to my PC

Ethernet over coaxial, just saying

Anyways, PCI wifi cards usually have better antennas

I've pretty much given up on powerline adapters... Ethernet cables are not an option (my pc is in a different room than the router)

The Asus PCE-AC68 is a PCI-E card with a separate aerial base so you can position the antenna to get the best reception, it is however very expensive for a wifi adaptor. It might be worth looking at how strong a signal your router is broadcasting, if the signal is weak there is only so much an good wifi adapter can do.

Either or, the method of connection isn't the limiting factor the quality of the WiFi module is ;)

... although a USB one would give you more flexibility with positioning.

Hmmm....

I would like to go with a pcie one (because of aesthetic reasons)

Is that okay?

Ethernet over coaxial.

Coaxial, as in the TV signal connector?

PCI-E, they're pretty neat

Alright i'll consider! What are the pros of it?

How expensive are we talking? :o

I've tested with my phone's speed test and i have a 10.88mbps download and 1.32mbps upload speeds (my internet is 10mbps btw and yes im not on fiber)

I did the test by placing my g3 at the pci bracket of my spec 03 and using the ookla app to test the internet speeds (to make it as accurate as possible if i went the pcie wireless route)

Coaxial cables don't carry only TV signal ;)

That's their main use.

But those arent near my PC D:

For one there's no dongle taking up a USB port. Connected straight into the CPU pretty much, can't be snapped off like a dongle

Hmmm good point! What good bang for the buck PCIe wireless card do you recommend?

You know that you can drill the walls to pass through the Ethernet cable right?

Just get a cheap TP link one with the speeds that you want and that supports the fastest wifi signal type that your router produces (e.g. dual band, 5GHz, AC etc.)

Problem is the room my PC is in is like.... yeah there isnt any walls in between... It's basically in a partitioned area of my living room with my router in the living room

How about the asus n15? It goes for like 49SGD here and it's probably the cheapest i can find here

Can't really say, only used one (my current) which is a tenda 300MB/s the PC came with. I'm yet to saturate it.

Whoever did the networking installation must be pretty brilliant if he installed the modem/router at the bottom floor.... -.-

@xnoobftw

I dont have a bottom or top floor xD (It's singapore those houses cost around 5 million singapore dollars) (so around 3.7 million USD for a 2-3story house at a good location)

Im living in a 5 room flat with 6 other family members xD
