I3 worth?

i have a question. Is it still worth to buy i3-4370? I am planning to use it with GTX 750 Ti 2GB and 8 GB RAM.

no no that particular i3 is not worth at all because it costs almost as much as the i5 4460. because of its better integrated gpu

 

however the i3 4160/70 is worth every $ and you can pair it with much more powerful cards

Personally I don't see any improvement for any games that I've played (was using G630/G2010 before upgrading to i3 3220)

I bought used with motherboard for $100, so there's that.

I didnt get you. So you are telling me to invest to i5 4460? But it has bigger power consumption and it costs more. I am buying it new with pair of gtx 750 ti and 8 gb ram. In country where i live we have kind of high prices. + i3 still has hyper threading and that is what i need. I searched for some performance footages and i think it is okay and still powerful. If i am wrong, sorry, anyways i will appreciate any suggestions

i5s don't have hyperthreading, they just have an extra 2 physcial cores that massively outperform the i3's extra 2 logical cores.

Don't get the i3 4370. Get the i3 4160 or 4170 just like everyone is saying. The i3 4170 has almost the exact same performance but cheaper because the integrated GPU on the 4370 is better. But since you are not going to be using the integrated GPU, just get a 3160/70

Nice, thanks for explanation Is there real difference between 3,7 GHz and 3,8 GHz? I think no, so probably gonna stick with 4170.  Really big thanks. I was deciding between i3 and amd fx 6300. Once again thanks for responses! I just didnt know what you mean until now

No problem! The 0.1 GHZ barely makes a difference, you won't be able to tell it. Also, make sure you get the correct motherboard and a nice 300 to 400W power supply. You don't need more than that with a 750 Ti and i3, so save some money on a nice power supply too.

yup, just make sure you get a good one, never get a crappy power supply. Also, you'll do just fine with a cheap motherboard. i3 is not unlocked anyway (you won't be able to overclock) so just get a cheaper one. It will have all the features you need so you'll be fine
