250 & 500GB External Harddrive

I'm looking for a 250 & 500 GB External harddrives (seperate).

It needs to be around the size of a phone (easy portable and not too heavy).

 

It doesn't have to be the fastest harddrive, but I don't want it to be as slow as an USB stick for example. I'll be uploading large video's, movies, photo's and data.

 

Suggestions/recommendations are welcome!

i'd get one of wd's external drives, i have a 10 year old wd external (500gb iirc) and that is pretty fast. i also have two 5 year old samsung (160 and 750gb) and they are slow as hell (always been)

I have a WD Blue 500GB 7mm thin and and this super thin USB 3.0 HDD enclosure, works really well.

Get a good quality USB stick.. it'll flatten a HDD in performance.. Cheap ones won't.

 

Sandisk extreme or similar is good.

Another option is to get a 2.5" drive (HDD or SSD) and to put it in a third-party enclosure (the smallest compatible you can find) :) I could suggest checking out the 2.5" drives: http://products.wdc.com/support/kb.ashx?id=f9bUwP
