Need recommendations for good headphones under 300€

So I've had a Beyerdynamic MMX 300 until it broke a few months back, since then I've been saving up for something new.

I did really like the sound of those, but going for somehting completely different sounding is also intriguing. I'm open for all.

 

I'm considering the DT 880s but I wasn't exactly impressed by Beyer's support the first time and don't really wanna go through that stuff again.

But can anyone recommend me anything else around that price point? I'm not planning on getting an amp, I'll just plug them into my mobo.

They will stay plugged in my PC and I'll be using them for dome gaming and listening to music. A lot of music, actually.

Oh yeah, I find on ears and in ears very uncomfortable to wear and will only buy a pair of over ears.

Wait for the AKG-K7XX to get back on Massdrop and get them.

24 fps for that "cinematic" feel


After a couple weeks of behavioral sciences at my school I can easily conclude my parents need to grow up.

Disappointing to hear about Beyerdynamic.

 

Based on your considaration of the DT 880, I assume you're looking for open-backed headphones. As such, I agree with both suggestions so far.

I swear, having tried them, I could confidently (and somewhat prepared to take heat for this opinion) put them side-by-side with the HD600 or HD650 in terms of audio quality.

My Grading System on headphones: SS= 98-100, S= 95-97, A+= 91-94, A= 86-90, A-= 81-85, B+= 76-80, B= 71-75, B-= 66-70, C+= 61-65, C= 56-60, C-= 51-55, D+= 46-50, D= 41-45, D-= 36-40, F+= 31-35, F= 26-30, F-= 21-25, Tier 1 crap= 16-20, Tier 2 crap= 11-15, Tier 3 crap= 6-10, Dahell tier= 1-5, No hope= 0                 Nevertheless, "Enjoy what you enjoy without starting some silly culture war" - Lachlanlikesathing. If you Recommend the M50/X in a thead, I would probably send you a dick pic.

This is a first. I didn't get roasted for comparing the HD600/650 to the X2.

They are ridiculously good for what the X2's are (if you're reffering to the X2) since, well, it came from Philips... a company that has somewhat a somewhat underwhelming reputation on anything that involves electronics.
