A couple of questions:

*is there any advantages/disadvantages of an ATX mobo vs a MATX mobo?

*atm I have a 1080p monitor. If I plan on getting a 21:9 monitor or 1440p one will I need a gtx 970?

*is the PSU reliable and trustworthy?

*is there much difference between the different r9 290's (besides the reference) and if so which are the top choices?

1. mATX and ATX are basically the same. Apart from mATX being smaller, that's about it. 
2. The R9 290 will be able to handle resolutions at 1440p just fine.
3. The PSU could be better, but its not bad at all.
