PC won't post after partially installed gpu drivers update
Giggidy25 replied to Srlex's topic in Troubleshooting
Did you ever find a solution to this problem? -
I'm pretty sure the drivers were the right ones, I used the AMD Software Installer to auto-detect the drivers for both my cpu and gpu. I have had issues with AMD apps before, not driver related that I can recall, but there is a possibility that it messed something up.

I have tried all DP ports and the HDMI and I didn't get anything to post.

I found the MB memory compatability, and unfortunately I cannot find the model number of the RAM I currently have. In your experience swapping out the RAM with sticks listed as compatible on the MB website fixed the no post issues you were having? Also, do you think this issue coincidentally decided to show itself right when drivers were being installed?

I recently purchased a new GPU, the RX 6600XT. When I first installed it into my system everything worked perfectly. The issue came about when I decided to reinstall windows. After a fresh install of Windows 10 I began to download drivers for both my cpu and gpu (ryzen 5 1600, 6600xt) and upon completion of the download and attempted restart my computer hasn't posted since, and the VGA led error light is lit on my motherboard. Trying all pcie slots with both my old and new gpu, clearing the CMOS, checking power supply connections, disconnecting drives, nothing I have tried has allowed me to get any post from the computer. All the lights in the system come on, all fans will spin including the gpu's, and yet nothing happens. I am not too familar with troubleshooting no post issues but to me it sems like installing drivers somehow broke something in my computer, is there anything I can try without an IGPU? Starting school soon and being down my main PC would be quite an issue so any help is greatly appreciated! PC Specs: Ryzen 5 1600, MSI Gaming Carbon Pro X370, 2x8gb Corsair Vengance, RX 6600xt (old gpu: R9 390x), Antec Edge 650W Gold, SSD + HDD

Is the 3070 overkill for a 1440p monitor? I currently run an r9 390x paired with a ryzen 5 1600 and am looking to upgrade to a 1440p 144hz monitor, which would require some more horsepower from the GPU. I am looking at getting the 3070, but is it worth $500 when I could get a 2080ti or 2080 for most likely under $500 sometime after the launch? Or would it be worth it for future proofing and having the most up to date hardware? Also, how long will it be before the second batch of cards come in since I will want to wait for reviews before I purchase? Is there any way to tell based on previous launches?

I have been using a cheap knockoff blue keyboard for awhile and with tax returns it's time to upgrade. I'm thinking I want a red or linear switch because I'm tired of being obnoxiously loud when typing or playing games, it's even starting to bother me now. I've been looking at keyboards between $100-$150 range, and have come up with some that have caught my eye so far. Apex 7 TKL: https://steelseries.com/gaming-keyboards/apex-7-tkl#apex-7-tkl-red-switch --> leaning towards my top choice at the moment, seems to have the most features for the price K65 RGB: https://www.corsair.com/us/en/Categories/Products/Gaming-Keyboards/RGB-Mechanical-Gaming-Keyboards/K65-RGB/p/CH-9110014-NA --> have seen people saying corsair has a bad reputation for quality Logitech Pro X: https://www.logitechg.com/en-us/products/gaming-keyboards/pro-x-gaming-keyboard.html --> love the wireless but don't know if that alone is worth the price considering Cooler Master MK730: https://www.amazon.com/Cooler-Master-Tenkeyless-Mechanical-Removable/dp/B07N4CTJB4?th=1 --> Just another keyboard I found, don't know if it's too compelling Obviously I'm looking for a tenkeyless, RGB keyboard but I'm not sure which one would be the best choice. Also, if I have missed a keyboard that would be better please let me know. All input is welcome! Thanks

Need advice!

Is the i5 4570 still a good cpu choice? Comparing it to the i5 4460 its about the same price if not cheaper (buying used) speaking of used anything wrong with getting a used cpu? Trying to save money as I am young and don't have a job.

I am looking to get a good power supply for my upcoming build. I am confused on what is good and bad and need some guidance. I've heard antec has reliable PSUs but as I said I do not know. I need enough power for an i5 and a 290x so ~650w is what I was looking at. By all means I don't want to cheap out but at the same time not spend a ridiculous amount of money. I would like to keep it under $90 being the absolute max. Any suggestions and recommendations would be awesome!! Also I think at thag price I can get a gold psu or more... I do not totally know the good from the bad. Any help is awesome thanks for putting up with me!

The best you can really do is scour eBay for a good deal. I just ordered a 290x for $230 so there are definitely good deals out there you just have to look around.
