So my colleague just offered me his 3 Way GTX 570's for £140 ($214.65)

 

Do you think I'd get better performance than my single GTX 760 OC? I could just save for a used 970...

 

I will be upgrading to a i5 4460 and Z97 also.

Yes they would perform better.

I would take 3 atmost tho, and make sure the Motherboard you get supports 3 way SLI.

I'd stick with the 760. I'm not sure of 3 way 570, but Crossfire/SLI seems to lack love from devs and you'll be losing some features going back 2 generations.

3-way is more issues than its worth... Even 2-way is!!!

Mainstream Intel core CPUs are not really reccomended for more than 2 way SLI or CF.

You could sell that 760, add that that with the $200 and get a 970.
