Hi guys

I was just looking intently at my new PC after buying an corsair h100i GTX and thought to my self, "could i expand that?", i was going to go for a full water cooling loop but i chose the AIO instead, eventually i wanted have a GPU block and other awesome water cooling gear, but i wanted to know if there was a cheaper option, than having to buy a new kit, as you can tell i am quite reluctant to throw away a brand new AIO cooler.

Thanks ShavedCloaca

You would need to really mod your AiO and even then it be most likely broken, get an expandable AIO like Fractal Design just showed off at computex

CPU: Xeon 1230v3 - GPU: GTX 770  - SSD: 120GB 840 Evo - HDD: WD Blue 1TB - RAM: Ballistix 8GB - Case: CM N400 - PSU: CX 600M - Cooling: Cooler Master 212 Evo

no you cant expand the corsair h series at least yet

but you can look into the Fractal Design kelvin aio's you can expand them look at @Enderman `s build log white heaven where you can see that he mod one of the coolers in the series

you can also look at the ranjintek Triton but i wouldnt recommend it :D

okay so maybe it isnt a good idea, but i have an old AIO cooler for my old build, would you recommend using that and a GPU block adapter for my GPU, i have a Sapphire 280x toxic, do you think you could recommend an adapter for this GPU if so.

I looked into it further and it IS possible to expand coolers like the H100i or whatever as long as you use the right size tubing

but the issue is the pump absolutely does not have enough flow rate. If you want to change the tubing, fluid, or radiator it would be fine, but adding more components to the loop would be extremely bad

It's been done many times like this one http://forum.corsair.com/v3/showthread.php?t=101461. Technically, we don't recommend it the fact that it voids your warranty which is 5 years in your case, and we don't think there is a real benefit in performance when you expand an AIO cooler due to the pump flow rate is only optimal with the factory set up. Anything beyond its current state, like adding a res or using a longer/bigger tubes, the result is going to be unknown to us.. That said, I personally like seeing these AIO coolers get modded, it cool when people get all creative with it :)
