Which build is better?

Go to solution Solved by aLemonNation,

Are these all prebuilt? If they are, you should invest the time to build one yourself to save money.

For me, the third build looks the worst. The 1st and 2nd options are worth it for the price with the 980 or sli 970. It's better to have more than less.

The second option seem pretty good to me.

2nd build has more preformance

the 980 and 2x970 are overkill for 1080p 60 fps

3rd build seems right for you

I don't know about this statement. While it's very accurate right now, a 980 or SLI 970 might be a good thing for future gaming. He would likely be able to play all AAA titles at ultra settings well into 2017 at 1080p.

Unfortunately, both cards are going to be very useless with DirectX 12.1 no matter what Nvidia says about supporting it.

It's never a good time to buy a high end video card  -_-

Do you believe the 3rd build would be futureproof for another 3-5 years?

Yes, they're prebuilt. I feel like I won't have time to build my own with everything going on in my personal life ATM. Also, I feel like I'll mess up somewhere along the building process (yes, even with guides).

If you had to pick between option 1 or 2, which one would it be? Also, isn't the 4460 going to be a bottleneck?

I'd probably go into the 2nd option. It's a bit cheaper and it's sli gtx 970, which has more power than a single gtx 980. I'm not sure about the bottleneck although the cpu given isn't that bad.

I read somewhere that most modern gaming hardware will handle DirectX 12 it's just that some of the features won't be available. We'll just have to see what features are missing and if I feel like I definitely need those features, I'll definitely upgrade my GPU  ^_^

LMFAO  . I'd probably end up breaking the GPU trying to install it out of frustration.
