I've decided I'm going to build a pc. I'm mostly going to be gaming but I dont know which build I should go for.

http://ca.pcpartpicker.com/user/XxHaZard_B3AST/saved/1V1Y

This build is an Intel one but I didn't include a graphics card because then the cost would be too high, btw I can buy a gpu later when I get more money, this also applies to the cpu cooler.

I could also get an AMD build that is $820 CAN, including OS but I will need help. Can people help me with this?

:)

You could fit a 760 or 770 into that budget, go with the LGA 1155 platform, get a cheaper motherboard and save some money on the CPU. Fit an SSD in there as if your life depended on it. Do you want me to put together a full list of parts for you?

Here you go: http://ca.pcpartpicker.com/p/1j4nN

You should be able to play most games on high/ultra settings once you overclock the card.

The system is crossfire ready. Once you add in another overclocked 7850, you can match or beat the performance of a 7970.

What If I drop the SSD, change the cpu to an 8350 and change the case to a Cooler Master storm scout 2? Would that last a while

Doing that lowers your performance and snappiness of your system quite dramatically.

i would go with the build WoodenMarker did BUT drop the ssd for now and get the gtx 760.

The 7950 can be found for cheaper than a 760 after rebate and overclocks much better. I'd say keep the ssd. An ssd from an hdd makes a world of difference.

Is it better to get an i5 4670k or an FX 8350?

The 4670k will be better for gaming until quite a while later when games become able to use all 8 cores. Even then, the overclocked i5 will fare with an equivalently overclocked 8350.

You can still overclock the 6300. Fyi, overclocking really shines when it pushes you from having struggles to play the game to a playable speed more than if you are already running fine.

Should I get this http://ca.pcpartpicker.com/user/XxHaZard_B3AST/saved/1V1Y

and then buy a gpu and ssd later? It can help cut the cost when I first buy

I dont need to start gaming right away, mostly waiting for bf4. The only games I would play directly is Minecraft and Tf2 which I can run on integrated graphics. Then buy a gpu and ssd when bf4 and assassins creed black flag release

I picked up a similar build and I got a gigabyte z87x board for a little cheaper, and it's beast. I would also go for a ssd from the start because it makes windows feel 1000% better

Intel 4670K /w TT water 2.0 performer, GTX 1070FE, Gigabyte Z87X-DH3, Corsair HX750, 16GB Mushkin 1333mhz, Fractal R4 Windowed, Varmilo mint TKL, Logitech m310, HP Pavilion 23bw, Logitech 2.1 Speakers

You don't need a 4670k for a gaming build. It's simply recommended because it's arguably the best cpu for that purpose. Then again, so it the 780 and I don't see that in your build.

Go with the first build I posted. You'll be able to play most games in high/ultra with it.

Do you think it would be able to run bf4 at high/ultra? What about AC4?

The Asrock board has pci 2.0 will that slow down a gtx 7xx series card?

If I need it do you think I can swap out the cpu and mobo for something better down the road? e.g. 2 years

BF4 benchmarks aren't out yet. I don't know. I'm guessing it would play on high just fine. Same logic applies to AC4.

The motherboard would be fine with even a 780. I wouldn't go sli 770's with it though. For crossfire 7850/7870's, it's perfect.

The cpu and motherboard are solid and are the last parts you'd swap out. You'll probably make a new builds by then.

Btw, you have to quote a post otherwise the person won't get a notification you replied to them.
