which cpu to get

guys iwas wondering if i should get a i5 4690k or a i7 4770k or a 4790k. i will be gaming on the system and was wiondering if the extra hyper threading would be worth the money?

Not really for gaming now. the i5 is fine

depends on what games you wanna play i think?

honeslty tough, my I5 4670K runs games like The witcher 3 on ultra without breaking a sweat. but a I7 4790K will last you longer without having to upgrade.

No as far as I'm aware the 4690k will not bottleneck the 970.

Why are you looking at the 4770K? The 4790K is a year newer, has a better onboard power delivery layout, a higher clock, and improved TIM for the heatspreader. 

If I were you I'd wait for the 5 series chips around the corner.

I am currently using the i5 4690k OC'd to 4.6GHz with a GTX 970 OC'd at 1550MHz. Runs fine. No bottlenecks as long as you play 1080p-1440p stuff. An i3 wont even bottleneck the 970. Don't worry about bottlenecking as long as it has 4 cores and has a speed of above 3.5GHz. In gaming the i5 and i7 wont have much of a difference. I suggest you get the i5. But if you have the money, i7 it is. Or i5 now and save some money to see if skylake is worth upgrading to.

i5 is cheapest and just as good for gaming as the two other but if you multi task and like to record gameplay then one of the i7s will be better. :)

Also never buy AMD for gaming only rig! Until 2016. :D

yeah that sounds like a good plan ill probably do that but is skylake on lga 1150?

Skylake will be on the lga 1151 socket. Also the 4690k isn't fine for gaming. It's great for gaming.
