1) They have their A8/10 CPU's (which are APU's), Their FX CPU's (which span across everything and have 4-8 cores) and some Athlon and Phenom stuff too, which goes somewhere inbetween.
2) I only know about 970 and 990X, 990X being the great overclocking boards. Can't really compare them, but those are the chipsets you could look at.
3) FM2+, AM3, AM3+ (and possibly AM4 next year). It's their sockets.
FM2+ is for the A8/10 I mentioned earlier, AM3 for the Athlon and Phenom CPU's (pretty much a dead socket now) and AM3+, which is for the FX CPU's and fits the AM3 CPU's too (kinda dead-ish too now)
