If you're going to use Photoshop a lot, i'd recommend the 4770k, or 3770k, I heard they're the best CPUs for photo editing

Video editiong , unless he is going to work on MASSIVE pics the 4670K is enough unless he is going it 5+ hours a day then he could win some effectienty but not much

Since you are using PS Definitally go with a Geforce 7XX card since you will be able to use CUDA technology that will fasten up your adobe PS experience and that is for all the adobe suit products ;)

I picked these parts out for a nice compact but powerfull and awesome looking build ;) :

 http://pcpartpicker.com/p/1j5pB

The SSD is one of the best SSD's you can get only reason few people use it is due to it's not beiing adertised as much as the 840's or something but it's a better drive in ANY possible way.

If you thing you are going to game beyond 1440P then i would suggest getting the 4GB model of the 770

Also i hope you like the colour blue beacuase this is a blue themed build ;) I would add some bitfenx alchemy Blue LED strips to make the build complete or you can get a NZXT Hue

I hope this helped  ;)

Actually Photoshop uses OpenCl so an amd gpu would be the better choice for that.

The 7970 3GB would probably be a much cheaper alternative that has very similar performance.

As for the ssd, a larger Samsung 840 250GB would be only a bit more expensive and would work better for Photoshop as a scratchdisk. A 120-128gig ssd fills up way too quickly for any decently hefty photoshop project.

I agree on the SSD part ,

Disagree on the GPU part show me any benchmark that proves that OpenCL is better than CUDA? CUDA is from whatever iam hearing these days Still the prefered solution for these tasks

Photoshop uses OpenCL and OpenGL. It does not natively support CUDA. Some plugins do though.

http://www.tomshardware.com/reviews/adobe-cs5-cuda-64-bit,2770-8.html

Anyway, it's really easy to use cuda and make everything way faster , OpenCL and OpenGL aren't nearly as good as CUDA no disscussion about it in my eyes , CUDA has been around for a long ass time

There aren't any comparisons between OpenCL and CUDA in that review. From what I've heard, OpenCL and CUDA aren't far apart in performance.

Also, Adobe is moving towards Open CL since it is a more open standard.

actually what their doing is making adobe products work as good and as fast on openCL

its basically going to support both cuda and Open CL/GL natively
