This is the PC I'm saving up for (http://pcpartpicker.com/p/XMVQvKq) , I've got about $250 and the PC cost around $2100 with the ASUS monitor. A lot of things are gonna change until I get the money like the acer monitor or the i7-4790k. The 980ti is $670 and it's basically the 980 I wa going after except.. Well it's a TI. The ASUS VG248QE will be a temporary monitor and will go to my grandpas and I'll be getting That acer then getting some decent 60hz 25inch IPS panels 1080p for web browsing YouTube twitch ect ect... Like I said a lot,of stuff will change, this may become a 4k gsming build but as of now it's fine. If you got any questions just ask about it. The setup will be around $4000 in total but won't be done for awhile.

Ways for me to earn money,

What I am Doing.

1. Chores. Tons and tons of chores.

What I am gonna try to do.

1. Now next door ladies lawn, ( She pays some Lawn care place like $75) So I'm gonna ask if I can do it for $25.

2. Getting a job, this is a W.I.P I am looking at Golf Courses.

What I may wanna try to do or learn.

1. Create YouTube backgrounds, profile pics, minecraft skins and ect ect.. Professionally and sell them at a good price.

2. Do Java coding to do minecraft server plugins professionally and earn money from working for the Server.

3. Open up my very own public minecraft server

( probably not possible)

Current Specs- I cry Everytime I see these. It's some old HP PC and I don't even know exact names,

CPU- AMD A6-3550 w/ Stock Cooler

Mobo- I truly don't know.

Ram- 2x4 1333mhz Ram.

PSU-Some 430w ?Industrial thing.

Storage- 1TB Seagate

OS- Win 7

That's about all I know. I think coding would be the most fun and I wouldn't know where to start. Any suggestions on what else I might like would also be amazing. Also the starting a minecraft server thing, combining that and coding may also be possible but coding would be more do-able to me and I've got a lot of time on my hands. ( Pun Intended )

A friend of mine got a job at mcdonalds, she's also 14. Gets paid 9 or 10 bucks an hour (minimum wage where I live). So maybe that's an option, depending on your work laws and stuff.

9 bucks an hour is actually pretty good. I think in total she makes like 400$ a month or so, so I mean, it is worth it I guess depending on your opinion

Get a job in McD's or similar and suppliment with the odd-jobs... Usually at that age your VERY limited in the hrs you can do.

 

You can cut grass, clear gutters, sweep leaves when you get near Autumn (fall), wash cars, paint fences and so on... be open to anything.. go round your neighbourhood and say you'll do anything for $xx per hr (+ costs.. gas for mower and such)

Oh I know it's not wrong to work at a fast food place at first but it shouldn't be no major job you retire from. I think a Wendy's about 20 minutes from me Hires. Other then that mainly family owned businesses or golf courses hire caddies to fill up the golf carts with gas, or plug them in if they are electric and clean them so they are ready for people to take them and stuff.

If you get a job, make sure that you are only working  the hours that suit you and not ruining your education because of lack of study or lack of sleep. I have 1st hand experience of needing to work to pay for travel between my parents houses (long story, not worth writing or reading) so took a job on a milk round, working 4am-8am most mornings as well as collecting payment from customers in the evenings. I was way too tired all the time and it ruined my final exams as well as any chance of college/Uni.

 

TL:DR ~ A job at 14 is not worth as much as a job at 40. Whatever you do, do it without risking your education.

I understand all this. Id only be working weekends and summer is here. At most I'd work Friday also, ( maybe Tuesday and Wedsday) Depends on how well Early College works out for me. If it's tougher then I think it will be strictly weekends and with this program I may be able to do some work at home and only go to the Campus on Tuesdays and Thursday and do online classes Monday Wedsday and Friday. It will more then likely be Friday-Sunday but whenever I can during the Summer

Are you planning to make money with that MC server? Coz you will have to invest first to make it happen and I'm not sure if it's that profitable as it used to be (you will need some great idea how to attract people).

 

3 years ago I had a MC portal with my friend. 4 servers 100 slots each - each server was different but only 2 servers were visited frequently (survival, PVP). We made 400€ a month from "donations" and we paid 60€ for server. But the difference is that we haven't started the portal, it was already running when we bought it, so it wasn't that difficult. We had to sell it because the community was terrible and we couldn't stand it after half a year.

With $100/month for mc donalds in my place, even if it is near my house, i'm not interested. I'm 14, but I make custom maps for my school's private TF2 server. I also build PCs for my father's and my several of my uncles' office. Atm I am trying to make stuff for unreal tournament 4, I can make money off that, but I already have a $1600 rig, just need to get another 970 for SLI
