$200 GPU upgrade

I'm doing a budget build for my brother and i need help finding a GPU around $200, I have to pick between a Nvidia GeForce GTX 960 Asus strix DirectCU II OC 2GB edition, and a  AMD Radeon R9 285 Gigabyte WindForce 2X OC 2GB edition. Which card it better or if you know of one better or equal  in the same price range please ,tell me.

The 280x is the best gpu in the $200 range. It's faster then both the 960 and the 285 and it have more vram

The 960 would be a waste of cash I say, so get the 280. The Sapphire 280 is 150$ (179$ without rebates) on Newegg right now.

If buying new, the R9 280X for $180-$200 is the best GPU in that price range. Check Newegg for deals.

Also, if you haven't bought RAM yet, then this Sapphire R9 290 + 8GB DDR3 1866Mhz RAM bundle for $250 is too good to pass up on. It's essentially an R9 290 for $200.http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814202143

Lastly, because of the 980Ti launch, tons of perfectly good used GPUs are available on Craigslist. GTX 780s for $200. Just be smart when buying used.
