I was possibly interested in cleaning and painting my GameCube controller :)

Has anybody here done it already?

And does anyone know where to get replacement GameCube analog sticks (for both sticks)?

Thanks for all replies ^^

Just looked online and couldn't really find any good replacement sticks. As for cleaning and painting it it's probably really easy, most controllers are quite easy to tear down and remove their circuit boards.

Just found this it looks pips to open: https://www.ifixit.com/Guide/Nintendo+GameCube+Controller+Joystick+Replacement/12584

Thanks for the link! Other than some YouTube videos, I couldn't find anything else :)

It looked quite simple to take apart indeed.

I heard something about how PS3 sticks should fit on there too, but will look into it a bit more (don't like PS3 sticks though..)

-snip-

Oh man, I probably won't take it that far.. I'll probably only spray it. Maybe add some picture or something too :)

But thanks for the link for the replacement sticks.

Most underated console ever made. Still remember the days back when I would play only windwaker, coloseum, sonic adventures 2, Ocarina of time, Majoras mask and the best of the best, Super Smash Bros Melee!

You forgot Super Mario Sunshine ^^

But Majora's Mask came out for the GameCube? I thought OoT came with WW and MM wasn't released for it?

It's a real shame GC games are so expensive now.. Glad I picked them up a few years back, before the price increased.

Of course FFS! I was playing that game just yesterday *facepalm* such an underated game.

OoT&MM&OoT Master Quest came bundled with a pre-ordered Wind waker.

WW here where I live sometimes seems to be more valuable than solid gold..

And I'm not even sure if all 2nd hand listings include the extra disk..

Still regret not pre-ordering pokemon coloseum.

Could get that god damn jirachi.

Golden Sun: The Lost Age on a big screen was so cool when I was a kid. My only complaint with the Gameboy Player for Gamecube was that I loved all the extras the Super Gameboy had.

I bought one of those with 7 games at a flea market for 1 euro ^^

Really beaten up though and I'm considering painting that one up too in metallic red.

I'm going to buy a new housing and a new battery for it. It's soooooo used. Used to have 999:59 hours of gameplay on my Sapphire LOL. Then I migrated everything to DIamond and restarted the game. :D

I'm painting a SNES and a 3DS XL for a friend's Xmas and Birthday gifts this week. Never painted a console, but I've always wanted too. I found a copy of Super Mario RPG, his favorite SNES game to go with it.
