Well for once with these kind of threads I am quite sure that a lack of ram isn't your problem.

It may be your thermal throttling your gpu, keep an eye on the temps of it when gaming to see how hot it gets also look at the temps of your cpu.

An AMD cpu has no place in a solely gaming build, end of.

I3 4150, Intel HD graphics, corsair CX750M, 4gb ram, Asus H81M-E, corsair 230T, Intel stock cooler WD Green 2TB Gigabyte 550TI

Why you shouldn't trust Gpu or Cpu boss Click on this I dare you!

temp shows 32C and the drip only just happened. don;t think it's a heat problem.

Tried reinstalling/updating your drivers

You're running the gpus in sli? I dont know why it would cause a problem but try disabling it and see if that changes anything

 Intel Core i7 4790K || G.Skill 16GB DDR3 || MSI GTX 970 Gaming 4G || Fractal Design Define R5 || Asus Gryphon Z97 || EVGA SuperNOVA 750G2 || Crucial MX100 256GB || Noctua NH-D15

reinstalled my driver and drove around for 10 minutes in GTA V

i can still definitely tell im getting fps drops

gonna try disabling sli now

May seem like a silly Q, but that limited usage could indicate Vsync being enabled.... if so, disable it in game or the NVcontrol panel.

You have not mentioned your settings,..or if Vsync is on.

Just something not mentioned yet.. (even tho you may have thought of it already)

If its off, then disregard.. (altho maybe post a screenie of your Nvidia 3D settings page, maybe something is amiss)

Maximums - Asus Z97-K /w i5 4690 Bclk @106.9Mhz * x39 = 4.17Ghz, 8GB of 2600Mhz DDR3,.. Gigabyte GTX970 G1-Gaming @ 1550Mhz

well... the new driver definitely helped.

but i found out what the real problem was.

it appears i cannot play games in borderless window mode without severe stuttering and frame dips.

i have 4 monitors so having all my screens flash black when switching from the fullscreen application to something else is really annoying.

i have 2 gtx 780's in SLI and a 4770k. i shouldnt be getting this problem playing with borderless window mode...

right?
