Mic picking up vibrations from case

dannyule

Hello people,

As always I thought I'd seek out the smart people of linustechtips to help me with an issue. I have just got a Hyperx cloud headset and the mic is picking up vibrations from my case which are probably the fans while recording. It's been an ongoing problem as this happened wit my previous headset the razer carcharais. I've tried the back inputs and the front and still the sound is present. I have the asus gene vii motherboard if anyone knows something about it that I dont. The mic input is also a 3.5mm. Thanks guys.

I'll mount some rubber between the fans and let you know if it has cleared up. If not what USB sound card do you recommend? I'm from the UK if you have links.

Are you sure that it's vibration picked up through the microphone and not elecronic interference? What does it sound like? Is your mic close enough (and sensitive enough) to pick up the sound of your PC? I had a big issue with electronic interfence making a buzzing sound, described by my friend as "the infinite zipper". It varied with my GPU load, suggesting it came from GPU interference. Can you har anything like that in your headphones?

maby juist turning down the sensitivety of your mic would help?

I spent $2500 on building my PC and all i do with it is play no games atm & watch anime at 1080p(finally) watch YT and write essays...  nothing, it just sits there collecting dust...

Builds:

The Toaster Project! Northern Bee!

The original LAN PC build log! (Old, dead and replaced by The Toaster Project & 5.0)
