do i need a mouse?

Go to solution Solved by zanthros,

Yes you can navigate thru the installation with only a keyboard, as much as a Pain In The A** it WILL be. You would be better off just to use a cheap USB hub to use so that you can install it with a mouse.

so im about to reinstall windows 8.1 pro and i was wondering will i need a mouse as i only have 2 usb 2.0 ports one for keyboard and the other for the memory stick.

no when you install windows the USB 3.0 ports dont work because it they need drivers so you can only use USB 2.0 ports and i only have 2 of them

Does he need a mouse he asks, of course you need a mouse. Keyboard navigation is a bit time consuming not to mention, sometimes you can't tell what is selected. You can get around with out your feet but i am sure you want them :D

If you only have 2xusb then get this or something similar.

Pretty sure you don't, but you can just take out the keyboard and plug in the mouse whenever you need it?

I've done it this way a couple of times. or you can use the mouse and on-screen keyboard to enter the product key which is the only time you need a keyboard.
