i m building my younger brother a gaming pc.

i m done with every part except for gpu, now i am very confuse between gtx 960 and R9 285. in the papers R9 285 outperform gtx 960 but practically gtx 960 is better

so i want to know which one will be better for 1080p gaming and upto which settings

if anyone can elobrate his answer in technical terms that would be really helpful

just to tell , the rest of the parts are

mobo: msi h97 pc mate

960 is less watts and is a dx12 card, but the 285 will support some dx12 features and is faster.

I'm not sure I understand the question, are you asking which gets more frames on average in games?

Do not  as I  do, and  not  as I say. Instead do as you may..

personally, I would go for AMD at this price, although it really depends on the features you want on the card.  I'm a bigger fan of Nvidia's software, but at the price point you're talking about, amd has the advantage in raw performance.

I don't really care about those Anti Aliasing features, leave them aside

Which one will give better fps and smooth performance at 1080p.

Budget won't be an issue because price difference between these two is small.

Also which one will be more future proof.

As nowadays most of thr games are nvidia optimized
