What's this build going to be used for?

Btw, just get a single Samsung 840 (non pro) 250GB for much cheaper. The performance difference is negligible.

Unless you're going to be overclocking the ram, you should get cheaper ram.

You shouldn't be using a 1080p display @60hz with a 780. Either go 1440p or 120/144hz to actually use the 780's power.

@WoodenMarker, this is for photo editing, website building, gaming, rendering, and video editing, and for school as well. BTW, where is a good gaming screen that is 144Hz for the money that is also 1440p?

You're going to need something like a 780/titan sli to actually utilize a 144hz 1440p display. Similar topic here: http://linustechtips.com/main/topic/37423-i-need-help-finding-a-monitor/

I'd say just get a 1440p IPS display considering you're photo/video editing. It wouldn't be a bad idea to grab a 120/144hz 1080p display on the side as well if you're into hardcore first person shooters or other twitch games.

Well, i am only getting one 1440p monitor, since i am fine with gaming with my Acer 20" 720p monitor. Is it possible to play hardcore games with a 1440p monitor?

I would get an Ivy bridge E CPU for editing if you can wait till September. And no custom loop... Looks nice but useless when it comes to performance, because you could invest in a second GPU instead. (Unless you already have a 2 way SLI and want to overclock)

Case: 650D CPU: i5 4670K GPU: GTX 770 Gaming @1306MHz Motherboard: MAXIMUS VI Hero PSU: AX760 CPU Cooler: H100i RAM: 8GB Vengeance Pro @1866MHz Storage: 840 250GB SSD / 2TB Seagate Barracuda 7200.14

With a single 780, sure--just not at 120/144hz.

I am planning to overclock the CPU & GPU to the max to the point of unstability.

But... you could get more performance for the money now without a custom loop and then add on one later.

A custom loop is never for 'worth it' on the performance side.

Then again, it's not always about performance.

You should see a custom loop as an option to squeeze out more power out of a full grown build with 2 top of the line video cards.

Dual xeons. It would top many full grown builds and you wouldn't be overclocking that.

It makes sense for video cards.

Yeah, that might work, but i want something from EK that is a full cover block, not just the GPU only.

I've found on FrozenCPU.com lots of EK-FC water blocks (remembering that Titan cover is the same as for GTX 780).

http://www.frozencpu.com/products/20587/ex-blc-1472/EK_Geforce_GTX_Titan_SE_VGA_Liquid_Cooling_Block_-_Acetal_EK-FC_Titan_SE_-_Acetal.html?tl=g30c311s1879

But They're all printed with Titan, but I think you should go with that since you're not looking to the card and the words are down the card. so you will never see them. Or go with other brands.

In case you were wondering why i stuck with Seagate even after the edit, the reason why i stuck with Seagate is the discounts and loyalty. I've trusted Seagate, even if i only had 2 drives that were the old IDE interface. I had 3 Western Digital drives, but all of those crapped out under almost no pressure. Plus, my dad works for Seagate, so he can get discounts for SSDs, external hard drives, and hard drives, of course. So that is why i stuck with Seagate this entire time.
