Error code FF

Go to solution Solved by Maslofski,

In the future @Maslofski, try to put all the information you could about your system and usage when looking for help with issues like this. Some important information left out would be like

  1. OS
  2. Overclock if any
  3. Does it happen randomly or with specific software
  4. Do you have all the latest drivers for your system

Code FF could be the Firefox hardware acceleration. I would advise that you do some process of elimination.

If you have Firefox installed on your PC.....

  1. Uninstall Firefox and check for errors, if no errors are found then
  2. turn off/disable the Firefox hardware acceleration by going in Firefox's settings, then advanced tab, then Deselect hardware acceleration

I only put it together. i never got into bios.

i just found this http://www.overclock.net/t/1185635/how-to-fix-your-computer-that-wont-post-or-has-an-ff-error-code

so ill have to RMA my board :/

So i put the rig of my signatire together but now it shows FF. I tried taking out everything, reseating cpu and then reinstalling 24 pin and 8 pin cpu power. I tried 2psus with this result

Bummer. What a strange kind of failure. Mind you its not the first time I've seen EVGA motherboards flame out for no reason. Had quite a few in the LGA775 lineup go out spectacularly.

On the plus side their RMA system is pretty damn good.

it didnt flame out, didnt smell burned, and it was a lot of things, like lame and disapointing, but not spectacular :P

Sorry to hear this, RMAs are just just frustrating in most cases.
