I'm wondering whether to sell it as a whole computer, or in parts. Any suggestions on how to sell this properly?

Use classifieds or ebay for that.

I'd say probably around $2000 or so would be about what you could get for it as a whole computer.

Why is the ram different capacities?

If you try to sell each part separately you will probably be able to sell a couple parts pretty quick, and get a good portion of your money back, such as the video card, and cpu.  But there are some parts that you will probably have trouble selling such as the motherboard and hard drives.  You also won't be able to sell your copy of windows since it has been used.  You could try selling it with the motherboard as a package but I doubt anyone would take that deal.

If you try to sell the computer as a whole I doubt you will get close to what you spent on it, and it will take a fairly long time before you find any prospective buyers.

The ram is different capacities b/c I swapped out that 8GB trident X from my old computer. I wanted more ram so I bought an extra 16 GB.

Yeah, I think it'll be more convenient if I try and sell it as a whole. Obviously, I'll go for a good price range, but if there's nothing, then I'll have no choice but to sell it in parts. I have a timeframe between now and the end of August to get the money for it, so I have some time to get this done.
