not to h8, but thats a bad build. $2300 and a 280x? and an AMD CPU? No, just no...

Don't go for EVGA NEX. It is not well made compared to Seasonic and EVGA B2, GS, G2 and so on

Already ordered the power supply I mentioned earlier and it should be arriving later today !

The 4th generation of processors should be more than good enough right? With talks of 5th and 6th generation processors coming out this year should I wait?

Broadwell is going to be pretty meh for the power user. It will focus mainly on the integrated graphics, will be useful for the casual gamer and the laptop market. Not worth holding your breath for

Since this is my first build I think I'm gonna stick with this generations processor for now and upgrade when I feel like I need to in the future.

Yeah Broadwell isn't much but at least it's still LGA 1150. If anything if I did wait I'd go for Skylake. But like I said before I think I'm just gonna stick with this generation's.

Does the WD Green drives suffer from their power savings features vs say a Seagate 7200 rpm 2 tb drive for gaming usage?

Get a WD blue or black, green is not good on load times.

I just wish the WD blues had a 2tb option because the blacks are pretty expensive.

What about the build below? Gold rated PSU, SSD, 4790K and black ram to match the motherboard. I did change the video card to a 290X. For OS I have had success with http://www.reddit.com/r/microsoftsoftwareswap/and just recently got Windows 8.1 Pro N for $15.00

That's a terrible deal. Why not just get a Seagate 2tb drive?

Higher but not a huge difference in failure rate. WD while they may have slightly less failure rates in 2TB drives and less for other sizes it doesn't look worth the cost.

Good news! I got the Asus 797-A 3.1 USB motherboard today and they switched the color scheme from the less nice gold to a slick silver color

You could also have a raid array, but honestly Seagate drives suck when it comes to longevity.

Just gonna wait then until WD drive prices become reasonable or Seagate becomes a little more reliable.

WD is not reasonable. Compared to other hdd gigabytes per dollar they are pretty expensive even for "better quality." They have HDD's that perform just as bad as Seagate in stress tests.

I'm talking about the Blues and Black's they are worth the extra cost.

You're telling me the WD black 1TB hdd that is $70.31 on Amazon is better that getting twice the storage at nearly the same price as a Seagate 2TB hdd: $76.65?

Size doesn't matter, speed and reliability matter.

All three of those things matter. Value also matters. WD doesn't seem to understand that for their blacks hdd's.
