I'm going with the 450D because the better airflow design of case and the 5 and 1/4 inch bays that I'll probably put a blueray player and NZXT Hue in the future.

Ok I think I've changed my mind on the case to go for the NZXT S340 (Black) ATX Mid Tower Case that was suggested. Since it doesn't come with front fans what would you suggest I get for fans?

Noctua is rhe best if you got the funds, 2nd I have seen over the past few years is Cougar . Little bit easier on the wallet. and if you want bling bling go Corsair

Gonna cuffem and stuffem. QUE QUE QUE. I love it I love it. :P

I'm also just getting Windows 7 SP1 and wait til the Windows 10 update. As for fans I know Noctua fans are the best but their looks leave something to be desired unless you step up to the "industrial" ones which are too expensive. I'll stick with the stock case fans for now until I get the money to upgrade them.

Noctua fans are 75% performance, and 200% gimmick.  Sure they are good, but not $20 per fan good.  Don't let this hinder your core performance.  Inexpensive $5 fans move air.

I have 7 case fans, and a fan on my Hyper 212.  I would not spend $160+ on Noctuas.  I have a $30 Fan controller, that made more sense to me.

True, but if you watch the video, it cooled down the components by 3-5 degrees. Sure, they're expensive, but they are super quiet and the airflow is amazing.

Bah, I got three 140mm Bitfenix Spectres (this is just an example) for $7 each.  Noctuas are not even twice as good, let alone three times as good.  The Spectres are not really great, but they do the job.  I hunt for deals on decent fans.  For the 212, I got a Lepa Vortex for $12... it does a decent job.

I'm in the final stages of getting my build figured out! I'm contemplating getting the cheap Hyper 212 EVO, spending a little bit more and going with the WAY better looking Cryorig H5, going stock until I get an AIO like the Corsair 100i or buying the 212 EVO and waiting for an AIO liquid cooler?

Its up to you, for me i would get a Hyper 212 evo and wait to get something like an H100i Speaking about the EVO, the Be Quiet! Pure Rock is the same price as the Hyper 212 Evo, and performs way better!bk009_w_h_1.jpg

I knew this was gonna happen...I'm now thinking of getting a Corsair 100i GTX. Big jump I know! But that also makes me think...since the 4790k is only about 100 dollars more...it's tempting. Does it help if I want to stream on twitch?

nooooo. Do not fall into that trap! Please only stay within your budget. Yes, this is common to people as they always spend more than they were planning. My first build was $800, and ended up being $1200. You're better off upgrading in the future.

So that would be like my budget. About $300 more than planned. That isn't terrible!

Hey everyone! I have a pcpartpicker link that I need help modifying for a build I would like make. I want it mostly for gaming but also some video and memory intensive applications! Take a look at the link and tell me what you think! Any help would be very much appreciated!

My current budget is around $1200 but in the future could extend to $1300-1500 depending on what other changes are made to the list. This budget change would most likely happen because I would buy everything but the graphics card until I can increase my funds. Any savings obviously would be great if you could help!

I am trying to decide between the Windforce GTX 970 or 980 as well! Is it worth the extra cost? Does the extra .5 GB of high speed memory make that much difference in the long term?

I'm also assuming the 4690k will be fine and I don't need the 4790k?

Lastly what are your opinions on the SSHD hybrid drive versus just a separate SSD and HDD? The cost savings is tempting.

In more ways than none I planned to go over budget so I think I will push ahead. The thing I didn't want to spend more money on was a 980 because the performance improvement doesn't justify the cost while streaming does do a lot better on core i7 processors. I just didn't want to go 400-600 dollars over budget. That's for another upgrade or build!

Alright, then the i7 will be perfect for streaming since you have 8 threads on it
