Surround Sound?

I game a lot, listen to numerous amounts of music, and watch movies all the time. My room is a square 20x20ft room. I am wanting to know how would I setup a surround sound speaker setup to work with my computer? And what parts would I need to wire this up? Also what are some good speakers, etc. I don't really know anything about this kind of stuff but I was curious if I could do surround sound in my room. Also how much do you think this would cost me? Thanks for any help!

you would need a surround sound receiver and then you could use optical spdif to connect to your computer. something like this would work. Dont waste your money on 7.1 either. 5.1 is enough.

Yeah, I know its pointless, It must be a test room in some audio company, I mean for the customer... Or maybe they just took a picture and that was it lol

Simplest way is just get a 5.1 active speaker set, and plug all the plugs to your onboard/soundcard accordingly.

 

How much will it cost? Anywhere between $50 to above $500.000, literally.
