Witcher 3 Issues

I'm so happy because the Witcher 3 Wild Hunt is finally here! Probably because I got it free when I purchased a GTX 960. I'm so disappointed though. Whenever I go to play the game, after the first cutscene, there is a temporary black screen. Then, I see my desktop. I can't do anything except for press the escape button a million times just to get out of the game. Anyone know how to fix?

I've been getting random lockups from time to time and i have to Ctrl Alt Delete and shut down the program because its unresponsive, seems to happen every few hours or so. Not too stressed about it im sure they're patch it at some point soon.
