Optimal Fan Instalation

Go to solution Solved by JebKerman,

I agree with turning those front side fans around, general gist is (in most cases, there are exceptions)

Intake: Front, Bottom, Sides.

Exhaust: Rear, Top

I have recently purchased the Zalman Z11 Plus Case.

Whilst I was looking over it yesterday I noticed something that to me (I am a noob BTW) didn't seem great.

The case has 1 120mm Rear Exhaust and 1 120mm Top Exhaust.

At the front is the cases only intake a 120mm Fan.

However immediately after the intake there are 2 80mm side out-takes this means that the second Cool air gets pulled in to the case, It will touch the HDD and then be pulled out.

I thought it would be better if both theses side fans were intakes then there would be more air flow? I read that it uses negative air pressure but i still think it would be better if the front intake air actually made it to the components

Does anyone know what would be best

PS. the side fans are in the Sticking out bits at the front

Thanks. Also on a slightly related note anyone got any idea if Zalman Stock Case fans are good? I know that most fans that come bundled with cases aren't that good but are they decent enough to not need to replace

i'm sure they could be better but, unless your temps are high or noise is killing you i wouldn't waste the money. I would also stay away from 80mm fans, not many people make great ones.

The 2 80mm Fans came with the case and I can't fit any bigger fans in the slots and I'm not going to try mod the case to make bigger ones fit. I might as well leave them on for that little bit more airflow.
