You can set the downloads to another drive. But yes you need to do it yourself. Sucks.

You link the drive so a specific folder, so you can name that folder Program Files, and it should automatically install onto the drive.

It's always best to install the programs to "C:\Program Files" on the same partition as the OS. Because some programs can cause troubles if not installed to OS partition cuz that's how they are made to work most of the time. Also some programs look for their resources using a relative path to system partition which again will be troublesome for you...

Never had a problem with this and I have three hard drives with most of my files on a drive that's not my primary OS C drive, don't think that's true at all.

I know it's not always a problem, But who knows what programs and services he's gonna install, and I'm saying so becuz I've had trouble getting some programs running from a different partition (not even a secondary disk).
