So i was going to but the windforce gtx 970 2 way sli but i got confused by something. When i was going to check out, there was asuperclocked gpu of it for $329 and a regular for 349$. I want to be able to overclock still but why is the superclocke done cheaper? I thought those are saved for the best of the best ones they test!

It's just charging you more money for a factory OC that can easily be done at home for free. Are you looking at the regular Windforce ("3X") or the G1?

Do not spend more on super overclocked versions.  Just overclock the regular versions yourself.  The manufacturers do not pick out binned gpus and put awesome overclocks on them for you.

Too many ****ing games!  Back log 4 life! :S

If a superclocked is cheaper than a regular - buy the superclocked its probably just on sale. You may also get better overclocks on it who knows.

It's probably on sale. If you can be sure that the factory overclocked one is also the G1 (with backplate and light) then get that.

Im planning on getting G1. the pre factory overcloked one is cheaper. Why is that

"Superclocked" is just an (apparently very effective) EVGA marketing term. It's not particularly special, nor is it a particularly large overclock. The Gigabyte G1 Gaming SKU is also factory overclocked. The fact that the EVGA one is cheaper isn't terribly surprising, given how popular and good that particular Gigabyte card is.

Compare to the reference specifications:

Better to buy based on something else—cooler, warranty, whatever—as either card can likely be overclocked much further than any factory overclock around.

Depending on the card model, the "overclocked" versions may have better power delivery and are more guaranteed to run at that clockspeed over the other ones, so they're somewhat binned. I don't know enough about Gigabyte cards though to make a 100% claim about that.

Just figured iut the base clock and boost clock is lower on super overclock lol. sorry guys!!!!!!!

Yeah, you were not looking at a "super overclocked" as you put it.

You were comparing the "G1 Gaming" version to the regular "Windforce 3 Overclocked" version.  They are completely different editions.  And yes the regular WF3OC version has lower clocks by default.

So basically a card that did well in the Silicon lottery.
