Hey people , I have a Acer aspire 5610z laptop with a cpu t2060 @ 1.60 ghz .... My question can I upgrade the cpu for anything with a bit more oomph ! Tar

its just not really worth the hassle, as laptop hardware is very case-specific, and you wont get much of an upgrade.

to be more broad, its generally a bad idea to upgrade anything in your laptop, aside from storage, or RAM.

 

and these days laptops rarely have a sensible upgrade path for RAM, and most laptops have custom drivers, which makes reinstalling kinda tough if they dont supply you with the necessary disks (specifically looking at acer here)

 

TLDR: laptop upgrading is possible, but if its not intended by the manufacturer (like the mechanical keyboard laptop) you shouldnt even bother thinking about it.

Not worth it. Also, a laptop is designed to cool what is inside it so a faster CPU could cause temperature problems
