Hey Guys,

So I Intend to give my PC a significant upgrade with a new 980, to replace my old 660ti

However, id like to keep everything else:

- CPU: i5 3570 @ 3.4ghz (no OC)

- 8 GB of Ram

- 450W Powersupply

What do you guys think? Will the 980 be able to stretch its legs on my machine?

Just a tad, but I don't think it would be very much. The minimum psu requirements is for a 980 500w though.

It wont bottleneck too much, but you should upgrade that PSU.

I think if you don't overclock the GPU it will be OK. Once you start overclocking the energy efficiency goes down quite a bit.

Got it, Thanks.

So to be safe, A larger PSU and perhaps a new CPU? Although CPU may not be the highest priority I guess.

It would be a shame to drop so much money on a card like this and not have it run to its max :(

Yeah it ain't gonna run to it's max but I mean once you get the money.. and upgrade that psu then cpu you should be golden.. for a long time

Your frame rate won't change that much, maybe 5fps lower than a 4690k.

No need to replace the cpu.

Is it the same story for SLI 970s? Will the CPU be a bigger bottleneck then?

It isn't a bottleneck in the first place and whether it would bottleneck a 970 sli would depend on the use case.
