If you are just waiting for your gpu I would do the build now and re download any games while you are waiting for your gpu as you can run of the I gpu till then.

An AMD cpu has no place in a solely gaming build, end of.

Build it because you have all the parts and if you can wait buy a GPU later, but it would be few months I think until the 300 Series hits the market. For me I would just get the best GPU you can for your budget as better will always be made and released.

Just build it now.

IMO practically speaking I think it's best to wait until 3xx series and then build right then and there. We're talking about a new GPU release in a month, that's pretty damned close. Skylake won't give you much unless you're a crazy Skyrim addict. DDR4 from Skylake is pretty useless atm, and x20 vs x16 PCIE lanes won't matter at all for most people.

Build it now, check that you can POST without errors, then wait for the GPU to install your OS.

I would wait for AMD 300 series and see what they have got.

If you are going to build PC that involves high end GPU then I would definitely wait.

Pretty sure he has ordered everything, and is just waiting for the gpu to be delivered.

Can I not install the OS now, and then run the display through the GPU once I get it? Or is it advised to not do so.

No you can install the os without a gpu in it you will just be running of your cpus integrated graphics.

plug your monitor into the motherboard, so you can use the integrated graphics on the cpu to install drivers/ games/programs, until your gpu arrives. Nothing bad will happen if you install windows without a gpu. (you will have to wait to install the graphics driver/ play games until the gpu arrives for obvious reasons)
