They should all be the same name. Unless you changed them.

Attach them all to the same computer. Funnel them into the same storage system if possible.

Go down the list and delete any that are duplicates when sorting by name.

Use the delete key. Make use of CTRL and SHIFT to select large ranges at once.

That's just what I would do. I doubt there's a dedicated program for such a task.

Another option:

Sort by name for seasons/series of videos (I'm assuming there are seasons/series).

Funnel them by series into an empty drive/folder on a single HDD. Do them in chunks like this.

Do what I just said from there for each one.

I know how you feel. I also have thousands of videos. I've been procrastinating for months to sit and sort it all, but I don't have the time, and it's a lot of work.

would be great if a software existed that will help you sort out everything

Well, it doesn't. Anything related to this idea that I've found looks like a Virus website. I don't trust it.

Well, that's not hard to fix.

Take the largest HDD in this collection of HDD's dedicated to video files and funnel the files therein into all the other drives til they are full. If possible.

Then start copying large batches of the files from each one and sorting them into this large HDD sorting them as you go.

This is your only option if they are in "a bunch of no name folders scattered everywhere" if you want them sorted. You made this mess, so you have to fix it.

Sorry, but that's how it is. Good luck.

Well I kinda figured this was just a one time thing, perhaps you should stop making duplicate copies if you don't want duplicate copies? And I didn't know trying to help someone out was unfriendly, next time I'll know better when you request help.

P.S. I've used download.com hundreds of times and not once have I run into an issue with viruses or the like.
