Hello Forum,

This might be a stupid question for the veterans here but for some reason when my PC boots up, I don't see the Gigabyte logo where I could press 'Del' and access BIOS, it directly boots and shows me the Windows logo. I'm using Windows 8.1 and I think this is because I might have enabled fast boot. Is there any way to access BIOS now? Help is appreciated since I need to increase my CPU fan RPM.

Thanks! :)

When your PC is turning, just mash the del button.

I did, but it still doesn't work.

reset bios to defaults and then try

Press shift while clicking restart

Somewhere in the troubleshooting menu is a option to access the uefi.

@Rayhaan Jiwani

hold shift when you press restart. It will take you to recovery options and reboot to UEFI or similar. Job done

The Shift method worked but I can't see the UEFI option in anywhere.

1. Press the Windows key + C, or swipe in from the right edge of the screen to open your Charms.

2. Click Settings.

3. Click Change PC Settings.

4. Click Update and recovery, then select Recovery.

5. To the right beneath Advanced Startup, click Restart now.

6. Once the boot menu appears, select Troubleshoot.

7. In the Troubleshoot menu, select Advanced options.

8. In the Advanced options menu, click UEFI Firmware Settings.

9. Click Restart. The system will restart and enter UEFI (BIOS).

Try that windows will boot slower but may give you access back to BIOS/UEFI

1. Search for “power settings” from the Start screen.

2. Click on “Change what the power buttons do.”

3. Click “Change settings that are currently unavailable.”

4. If prompted, enter the Administrator password to change the User Account Controls.

5. Under Shutdown settings, uncheck the box next to “Turn on fast startup (recommended.)”

6. Click “Save changes,” then restart.

*Edit*

Sorry didn't notice you had tried. Is it a desktop??

I did, check #16.

Yeah, I have a desktop. Check my signature (I guess that's what it's called) for specs.

shut it down, take power out, remove CMOS battery, hold power button ~10 seconds, refit CMOS battery, power back up

Is the CMOS battery the size of a coin? 'Cause if I'm not wrong, on my mobo, it's covered but black plastic and is connected to the board by two wires.

Yes, it's the same mobo. I'll try the CMOS battery method.
