Which is better?

So I would like to know which of these 2 setups you think is the best. It is for a friend who wants to buy new GPU. So his options are one GTX Titan X or 2 GTX 970s in SLI. I know that some games are not well optimized for SLI but I would like your opinion too !

970 sli is much cheaper and usually perform better so i would go with that

EDIT: Is your friend doing a new build or something? Make sure they're not getting some dinky CPU to put with those video cards.

The GTX TITAN X will be slightly edged out by the GTX 970 SLI, but the TITAN X has more VRAM and is almost as powerful as dual GTX 970s/R9 290Xes while consuming less power and having a better upgrade path. TITAN X for me.

Combining a Titan X with a dual core APU of AMD won't get you any framerates. This problem is called a bottleneck.

The point im trying to make and probably the point that Kloaked was trying to make is that when it comes to games where SLI will matter and will infact be needed to be maxing the game, it's almost always there.

Depends on what res:

1440p and down:sli 970

3440x1440 and up:TitanX
