the OP asked about earbuds not monitors?

There is actually a difference and earbuds are the correct term for a headphone that sits in the earlobe.

shure se215 is not earbuds.

I know. I didn't mean to start a s**t fight, I just wanted to point out that half the thread including the OPs question was about earbuds and I didn't understand why you hated them being called what they are.

I humbly apologise for the stink :)

meze recommendations again... why did linus have to unbox those things

Well they are good headphones. Logan says so, and he actually uses some high end stuff. Linus also uses 595s, so it's not liek they were lying when they said they are excellent for the price.

My first pair of "good" ear buds were the klipsch image s4 and since then i cant go back to cheap headphones, be warned once you hear quality there's no going back. I then bought some x10's which got worn down very easily and in 6 months they were starting to buzz a little, i contacted klipsch and they sent me a new pair of image x10i's which cost much more on sites like amazon, ive been using those for a year now and have had no problems, they are the best headphones ive ever had and im actually wearing them right now they feel like there not even there. the s4's are great though very good sound i would start there!

if he wants to spend 100 then buy the x10's by far the most comfortable and best sounding earbuds there are.

I'm no audiophile but I have a set of the Bose IE2's. They are fantastic to my ears and are the most comfortable in ear headphones I have tried. (The only pair that hasn't hurt my ears).

They can be bought for around £90 or a little cheaper on ebay. I hope that helps.

all the generic shit, phillips, sony, tdk, skull candy, coby, etc. Everything you'd expect to be at the $20-$30.  No conspiracy just my impression, they sound and look like the same factory has made them.

Not meaning to have a go by any means but if all you have tried is the 'generic shit' then why make that sort of comment if you haven't tried products from companies well known in the audio world for their sound quality. I've tried countless in ears and i know that most of them sounded very different, many of which having their own unique sound.

They are very knowledgeable but don't seem to keep up to date with the audio industry so shouldn't be listened to alone for a clear review.

Also the people criticizing the Meze headphones are not saying that they sound bad but that they are copies of a much cheaper headphone and are so are misleading the potential buyers, which of course is helped on when they get positive videos from two big tech industry personalities.

Because that is my experience, I was simply warning the OP  to be very careful of ear pieces in the price bracket and just above in case they are similar (and going by what people are saying about meze and razor etc it's probably not far from the truth). You'll note I admitted I had no experience with higher end earbuds and so would not comment on them. I don't quite understand why this is an issue?

if I was going to open a new restaurant would I send samples to a news teams food critic or to their host or anchorman?

do I doubt the anchorman has a good palette? no, they get paid good money I'm sure they eat a good restaurants and have tasted great dishes but do they have the tastebuds of a vetted food critic?

doing a quick google search meze sent their product out to "gadget" people and bypassed the real critics in the game. a brilliant move, it got the attention of the easy marks he was hoping to catch. I'll wait till tyll or hifiguy528 or countless others perform their tests on the meze. till then the meze will, to me, be a rebadged price inflated product with slick packaging selling an image of luxury and class.
