Download speeds

I recently updated my modem that my ISP gave me 5 years ago, because i had finally had enough of the slow download speeds, Since i got My new Modem (NetGear D6300) my internet has gotten 7x Faster than it was before, the reason i'm Posting is, is their anymore i can do to make it even faster? (Without calling my ISP and paying for higher speeds)

 

Since I'm in Australia we have slow internet paying for more speed is out of the question

 

i'm happy with my 7Mbps over the <1Mbps i was getting before we upgraded, i was wondering if their is annoying more i can do, i also am restricted to wifi since my PC is in the room next to the Office ( Where the Modem is ) i cant use a Ethernet cable ( Well i can ) but i can't because to get to the office you need to go down the hall to the end of the house, i would drill a hole through the wall, but i cant since its not our house because we're Leasing Since my fathers business went Bust quite a few years ago because people owed us money, and were not paying and refused to pay their bills.

You could get something like the "Powerline" it's basically using your power circuit and act like a Ethernet connection. But it will only improve your connection from your PC to your router / modem and not the connection to the internet. So, you might still need to call up your ISP to improve on your overall internet speed (which means gonna pay more).

A powerline basically plugs into the wall, and uses the power network of your house to transfer the data to the powerline at the other end (that's a rough definition of the term).

It should be able to BOOST the d.speed quite a bit.

Not really, the only way to make sure you have "faster" speed is to upgrade your current plan. If you want better speed with out paying more, is to be the only person on the network, the less people online the more bandwidth for you within your Local network.

As people have said Powerline adapter uses your current electrical wiring as a network cable without adding ethernet cables to your house.
