so i'm trying to find a new pc for my mother because her 4 year old inspiron laptop is really bogging down as of late and she wants to get into making and editing youtube videos. i'm debating whether or not to get a decent prebuilt computer for her or just picking out parts for her. can anyone recommend me parts for her or a good prebuilt pc that they know of? she will mainly be using premiere, photoshop, after effects so she doesn't need a beast but i also don't want to lowball her.

this is the prebuilt i was looking at. it has 12 gigs of ram which is more than enough for what she needs and a 1 gig gt 720.

What kind of videos is she editing?

Why a prebuilt instead of building one yourself?

Wow. Ok then.

Well, why the hell not?!!

“When life gives you lemons, don’t make lemonade. Make life take the lemons back! Get mad! I don’t want your damn lemons, what the hell am I supposed to do with these? Demand to see life’s manager! Make life rue the day it thought it could give Cave Johnson lemons! Do you know who I am? I’m the man who’s gonna burn your house down! With the lemons! I’m gonna get my engineers to invent a combustible lemon that burns your house down!”

A budget 8320 or 8350 based build could be great for the light video editing she does. If she's into prem pro she'll know if she wants OpenCL or CUDA so just ask.

Any reason why you chose a prebuilt instead of a custom build?

i'm fairly new to pc builds and while i have a good idea of what i want for my own gaming rig i wasn't sure what a good system would consist of for her without being too expensive.

and sorry, i'm not used to posting here yet.

Would she need a copy of Windows or any peripherals or is that covered?

i have her covered in both departments :) just need to make sure the pc is wifi capable

Would the system be used for anything else or is that it?

How much storage would be needed?

In that case, I'd recommend something like this: http://pcpartpicker.com/p/xW3nqs

Add a 1TB drive if needed: http://pcpartpicker.com/part/seagate-internal-hard-drive-st1000dm003
