How many programs/apps/tasks do you run on startup?

The thing that annoys me the most is when people are complaining how their pc is running slow, how it needs xy minutes to boot, and when I look at their msconfig/startup in tm, they've got like 30+ programs (mostly every program they every installed and can be run on startup) running on startup.

I personally run graphics drivers, av, clouding, core temp and some manufacturer (audio drivers etc.) stuff.

The ability to google properly is a skill of its own.

a pet hate for me too... i tend to disable all the annoying startup apps and regularly vet the services.msc list for things which don't need to be running... seriously microsoft... Fax & Telephony services are enabled by default on Windows 8.1 ! By changing all of the services added by apps to manual startup instead of automatic you can save a fair bit of time when booting and reduce the ram footprint of the OS. After a lot of fiddling I got my rig down to a sub 5 second cold boot.

I'm on a horse...

Logitech Gaming Software (so that my Macro actually work..)

AMD Catalyst

Asus Xonar Essence STX control panel.

Daemon Tool (as a gadget), though I might switch to virtual clonedrive or WinCDEmu, as I haven't updated in months now considering the latest versions are not exactly free anymore and filled with junk.

And that's pretty much it. Other than the various drivers and windows services.
