I plan on doing raid 0 with my SSD that is 840 evo 250gb (mainly for the looks :P) so i was wondering if it's best to find an another 840 evo or to get one 850 evo and raid them together? and is it posible to raid two different model drives (one 840 evo one 850 evo? both 250gb)

You can raid to different drives but you will only get the performance of the slower one.

An AMD cpu has no place in a solely gaming build, end of.

I3 4150, Intel HD graphics, corsair CX750M, 4gb ram, Asus H81M-E, corsair 230T, Intel stock cooler WD Green 2TB Gigabyte 550TI

if you want two SSDs just for looks, dont do raid 0

its just a bunch of problems that are not worth dealing with for no noticeable performance increase...

just use them as 2 separate drives

I run two RAID 0 SSD arrays and never had a problem.  No idea what this "bunch of problems" thing is all about.  Not a single hiccup in 4+ years.

2 SSDs in RAID 0 does indeed double the chance of failure.  However double of "so rare it's not worth worrying about" is still so rare that it's not worth worrying about.  And if you're still worried that it might fail, that's what backups are for.

With the data on 2 independent SSDs there's just as much chance of failure as there is if you put them in RAID, so a backup is equally important.  If you have 2 SSDs in there anyway, you might as well put them in RAID to get the extra speed out of it.

As for the speed, I too thought that it wasn't much faster at first.  However once you get used to RAID, single-SSD computers are just sloooooooow.
