ram upgraid

Go to solution Solved by Guest,

Do you have any spare motherboard RAM slots? If so, how many? If you have enough then yes, you can get another 8gb kit, if not then no you cannot.

i have 8gb of gskill ripjaws x ram and i would like to upgraid to 16 do i need to buy a new 16 gig kit or could i buy a seccond kit of the same 8gb ram

Yeah it's possible:

  1. 4 x DDR3 DIMM sockets supporting up to 32 GB of system memory

    * Due to a Windows 32-bit operating system limitation, when more than 4 GB of physical memory is installed, the actual memory size displayed will be less than the size of the physical memory installed.

  2. Dual channel memory architecture

You can have a maximum of 32GB of RAM in that motherboard, spread across 4 RAM slots.
