Yeah... kinda... let's just say we solved a super huge problem with a simple solution.

My account is almost entirely dormant. Hope you all are having a grand time. Many years of fun were had here.

only have one stick and it's ddr2 so I don't have another to test, but i switched the slot and to no avail

If it was a ram problem it would still post.. Just checking, but you do have a case speaker attached to the motherboard for the post codes? (not many actually do have them these days)

Is there an LED code display?

If yes to either of these, what is the code you get (and model of motherboard)

I don'T PreSS caPs.. I juST Hit THe keYboARd so HarD iT CriTs :P

Not necessarily Some sticks of RAM will cause black screens if they don't function at all(for whatever reason).

Took ram stick out into the other slot, moved ram stick back into slot...nothing

 

...zapped ram stick with shock from my finger = Success...just...wot...not..huh...???...fail in epic proportions=winning failure?

 

what i do for a celeron 440 @ 2ghz...Wait could make use of this in a different way is now the question...

You might have weird RAM that requires insane voltage? Such binned RAM DIMMS are rare occurrences though and are usually sold for extreme overclocking.
