Ok let me break it down for you as someone that has played a lot of racing games.

Project cars belongs to the simcade catagory of racing games, a cross between sim and arcade racers but closer to a sim then gran turismo so you will likely struggle as you will need to brake a lot more.

Graphics and sounds are vastly superior but  that comes with the generational gap.

AI is likely to be the worst you will encounter in any racing game, ever. Do not try aggressive braking style overtakes, they will bulldoze you off the track.

60 cars within the game currently plus 4 if you have that fancy pre order pack, plus 1 more this month and every month for the next 12 months for free. not sure about dlc

Track count is awesome, track quality is the best on console by bloody far. On pc only assetto corsa and iracing best it due to laser scanning and you might as ignore iracing because they can go die in a fire. Track count matters to sim racing more then cars so that explains that however its not a sim so it has a identity crisis.

Campaign has some good concepts but i think it could have been executed a little better, its similar to gran turismo but teams come to you.

So two conclusions:

On console its the best "realist" experience you can have of circuit racing so if you have a console then its a good buy.

If you are on pc dont waste your time on it and get Assetto corsa or Rfactor 2.

If you really want it on pc wait for the summer sale.

Coming from someone who works on cars in real life and has a passion for working on them and then driving them and understanding the connection between the two, project cars isn't anything special what so ever. I've yet to find a racing sim as good as Forza (fuck horizon). Car customization in project cars is completely absent from what I've seen and as far as everything else goes it is average. Not to mention the extremely limited selection of cars with no customization in parts the differences between cars in the same category are pretty much nothing. I say get Assettto Corsa if you're on PC even though I have my own huge list of gripes with that game but I'd take it over project cars anyday.

Yeah I'm debating whether I should get Project Cars for PS4 or Assetto Corsa for PC. I don't know if my PC can handle assetto corsa though. I have an 8320 with an R9 280. Do you know if that's enough horse power to handle that game at max settings?

You can see my parts list in my sig and I ran it fine, pretty sure I had it at max settings. You're system is pretty much right on par with mine so I'm sure you can run it max or damn near close to max. Just be aware Assetto Corsa atleast in my opinion is very difficult to setup with a wheel/pedals and is not user friendly at all. Honestly I bought it a few months ago and could NOT get my wheel to work with it and generally could not get it to work at all and just gave up on it. Honestly you will need to have patience with it.

Oh really?? That really stinks. That might be a deal breaker for me. If I'm going to drop 50 bucks on a game like that, I really want it to work with my wheel. I feel like that's the only way to enjoy a game like that. What exactly was hard about it to set up?

you cant max it, id say you would have to play at similar settings to me so no depth of field, no motion blur and static reflections. It still looks great, the best thing about AC is that it will last much longer due to mod support

same question what wheel do you have

Reason i ask this is because ive tried this game with four wheels now each got also detected, you can also download profiles online for wheels which they didnt support out of the box.

Ive tried the driving force gt,g27, thrustmaster t300, t500

If you have a relatively new wheel, like 5 years old or newer you should be fine. It is still definitely worth the money as even though I got frustrated and didn't play I'm still happy I bought it because if I ever do get my wheel to work I know I'll have a fucking blast with it.

Mine is a super old Logitech Driving Force that launched with GT3 for playstation. I've gotten it to work with every other racing game though so I don't know why AC has such a gripe with it.

I don't think it is the pro but I'll give it another go later today since I'm sure things have changes from when I tried a few months ago.

Also is your title from that stupid anime No game no life?

Okay good lol because no game no life is literally a fucking incest and rape fantasization and is sadly obnoxiously popular.

ive seen quite a few people on the AC forum with that wheel, should work fine, support forum is very good as well if you do encounter problems.

I've been watching anime since before you were born lol, I may not watch much recent anime because I'm really only a late 90's early 00's fan but I couldn't even make it past the 4th episode because it is fucked up people fucking write that shit and normalize it.
